Esta serie que forma parte del Proyecto Sur expresa y afirma un lugar de pertenencia. Una región, Latinoamérica, un continente, Sudamérica, un país, Argentina, una ciudad, una casa, un hogar. Las casas humildes y casi en proceso de derrumbe son habituales en el paisaje cultural de nuestra América del Sur y de toda América Latina.
La irónica palabra “Home” supone una jugada casi chistosa en este contexto de pobreza. La simpleza del habitáculo, armado con cartones impresos, muestra la triste realidad que nos marca desde hace muchos años. Hay casas sin techo, las hay al borde la catástrofe, desarmándose y algunas auto-sosteniéndose. Es una serie en construcción permanente y su desarrollo metafórico se manifiesta como símbolo de resistencia.
Trabajo con láminas de porcelana de origen alemán (Kerafelx) desde el año 2009, las calidades de impresión cerámica con técnicas cerámico-gráficas que me brindan, son óptimas.
Mis construcciones en 3D las resuelvo cortando de las láminas desde patrones, con un cortante o con tijera, que luego pego y armo. Normalmente las técnicas de impresión son procesos fotocerámicos de gomas bicromatadas, transferencias directas desde fotocopias y calcomanías vitrificables digitales. En ocasiones también trabajo formas lisas con esmaltes y lustres metálicos o simplemente con el material al desnudo, resaltando sus calidades propias.
This series, which is part of Project South, expresses and affirms a sense of belonging. A region, Latin America; a continent, South America; a country, Argentina; a city; a house; a home. Humble, nearly collapsing houses are commonplace in the cultural landscape of South America and all of Latin America.
The ironic word "Home" seems almost comical in this context of poverty. The simplicity of the dwelling, constructed from printed cardboard, reveals the sad reality that has marked us for many years. There are houses without roofs, some on the verge of collapse, falling apart, and others barely holding themselves up. It is a series in constant development, and its metaphorical unfolding manifests as a symbol of resistance.
I have been working with German-made porcelain sheets (Kerafelx) since 2009. The ceramic printing qualities they offer, combined with ceramic-graphic techniques, are excellent.
I create my 3D constructions by cutting patterns from the sheets, using a cutter or scissors, which I then glue and assemble. The printing techniques I typically use are photoceramic processes with bichromated gums, direct transfers from photocopies, and digital vitrifiable decals. Occasionally, I also work with smooth forms using enamels and metallic lusters, or simply with the bare material, highlighting its inherent qualities.
